Does Anyone know if Father Lacy, Ranger Chaplain who was associated with the 5th Ranger Battalion had an officers rank and if he wore a Ranger diamond with an internal '5' on his helmet when they landed on DDay June 6th?

Thanks, Scott

I'm not sure but In think all Chaplains, Doctors and Dentists had official Officer rank and wore the insignia of whatever unit they belonged to .. That certainly applies today and I'm sure did in earlier times too ..?

Thank you.

I found out that he had the Officer rank on his helmet but that he did not wear the diamond on his helmet.
