guys, can you help. Just bought field telephone that when batteries inserted and key switched, blown into handset but appears to be nothing, anything i can check or any ideas.

That's a good point ... when I got mine took me a while to realise something was missing ... managed to get correct ones from a guy in the US ... was a while ago now though, couldn't tell you who or where he was, sorry.

Best way I've found is to check the bits with a known working model. Then you have a better idea where the problem lies. SOmetimes it's just dirty connections.

Just out of interest on this ... even after I got both my speaker and ear pieces from the States, mine still wouldn't work, closer inspection revealed that the left side battery contact had snapped at some point .. pic attached shows the repair I did ... you have probably checked but there could be something similar going on ..??

till i can check with another, i've just done the last resort test hand over terminals and cranked it up and yes a little kick.

Hi,
I restore and sell tele sets ‘F’ as well as parts.
If you’re either near London or going to War & Peace Revival, you’re more than welcome to test with a set from my stall/ stock.
There are numerous reasons they don’t work but most problems can be sorted cheaply.
