Today I spoke a guy I know.
He told me he found with a detector near Hamminkeln a hole with several US helmets in it, including a few D-bales.
But he told me they also found helmets with 101 AB marking on them like 501, 502 and 327.
He showed me a photo of a 501 marked helmet and liner as well as a helmet fresh from the ground.

Is there any evidence the 17th AB procured helmets form the 101st before the jump into Germany??

Or men that had transferred from the 101st into the 17th?

Hadn't thought about that, might be a possibility.
