As others have said, there are no approved standards for blank firers in the UK.

Be very careful when anyone tries to tell you otherwise.

This statement sounds very convincing doesn't it:

However, "Regulation no 1754" actually only says this:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2011 ... 754_en.pdf

In fact, "Regulation no 1754" actually tells you that there are no acceptable standards!!!

Is that a solid block in the barrel and side venting, or is it a bar and thus the gun is forward venting ???

This may have passed me by before, but it *does* look like Regulation 4 of these:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2011 ... 754_en.pdf

does contain the basic specification required?

There is a spec.

However.... there is no certifying authority. You can't send your replica to a Proof House
That goes for all BFs. You always run the risk.

Just because the vendor says it's legal... a court and forensic scientist may find otherwise.

Indeed. How many people have the equipment handy to check the RHA.... you only have someone's word on it and your liberty at stake.

As a matter of interest, anyone know how much these are being sold for at W&P?

time to clear up some confusion here ,, they do come with individual paper work ,, an individual serial number and the paperwork is from the proof house stating that it meets requirements laid down in uk law
therefore they are uk legal
they vent upwards from a hole just in front of the front sight
they are semi auto and they do fire the 9mm pak blank
the magazine has a restriction in the back so that live rounds will not fit in the magazine
