416th Rifle Regiment, 112th Division, 62nd Army RKKA

We’ve just started a new group, a sister group to our 2nd Essex BEF.
It’s been formed with members that wanted to try something a little different.
We aim to be a battlefield unit and also to create a credible ‘dug in’ group, portraying daily life in the rifle pits.
We’ve had some great guidance and pointers from members of Za Oboronu, to whom we are very grateful.
This group is in its infancy and we are now looking for new members to swell our ranks, so if you’re interested please pm me and we can talk over what we do, where we get our uniforms and equipment, and what shows we will be going to.

We have just added a new addition to our unit, 1905 gas firing maxim machine gun, along with a blank fire PPSH41, Blank Mp40, live firing and de-act nagants.

Update

[*] This is a newly formed group from May 2012, we portray the 416th Rifle Division, 112th Rifle Regiment, 62ndArmy RKKA of 1941 – 43.

[*] We are predominantly an early war group focusing around the Stalingrad period. We wear the Gymnasterka 1935 Tunic, this is the one with two pockets on the front and collars. Later the collars are phased out and shoulder boards with no collars replace them.

[*] Our insignia is Subdued “green” on both the Pilotka star and Gymnasterka Collars. We are an infantry section comprised of Nagants, a few SVT’s & PPSH41’s including a sniper detachment, DP28 team and a Maxim team.

[*] We have just acquired a Gas Firing Maxim which can be seen in the Multimedia section of this website. Currently we have gone for full webbing including Y strap yolks, 1939 “Ryuksak” backpacks, 1935 Greatcoats, 1933 Telogreika winter uniforms.


[*] We have a little project on the side currently, a 1943 Bedford MWD that is being restored to hopefully use as a captured German Bedford for our section.
