Have a small project going on at the moment and could do with a little guidance, please...?

What would be the obvious uniform differences in Naval Infantry(Marines) uniform, from the Wehrmacht?

Would it be merely a change of badges to 'gold' thread? And the helmet decals to Gold, too?

Cheers

Manny

Depends on what look you want.

You can do the navy blues or jacket look with webbing. The more typical combat look of the Kriegsmarine would be coastal artillery, they were used in the late war. There uniform was m36,m40,m43. More typical m40 with the bottom jacket pockets inset. (applies to all KA jackets) They had naval buttons painted green and a green backed gold eagle, the collar tabs were a goldy coloured litzen (could have normal army ones) . The shoulder boards for regular troops would be naval shaped and grey with flaming artillery shell on them. Helmet was standard army ones with gold eagle.

If you are thinking of more of a boarding party would be there on ship blues. The KA were issued with SS pea dot cammo so they would also wear that.

I will look in angolia's book on uniforms see if there is anything else.

PM me if you want anymore info

Hope this helps Manny.

A related question if you don't mind. Would the KM Infantry have been allowed beards?

I would lean towards no. The navy were much like the Royal Navy strict. Based on very similar principles passed down from the Imperial era. It's possible and I'm sure their are pictures of them with a beard.

Thinking about it I have not seen many bearded KA soldiers.
