Thanks, I gave the rebuilt 5cm f/2.5 Hektor from 1933 a work-out. :)
The 5cm f/2 Summar was designed as its successor, that was cheaper to manufacture.

The Doesburg Photographica Fair didn't yield much in a sense of 1930s/1940s cameras for me last weekend.
I picked up a 1950s Elmar 50 f/3.5 in M-mount for my Epson R-D1 and Leica M3,
a Jupiter-11 135mm f/4 (Sonnar copy) in Contax mount for my Contaxes,
and a single 4x5" Riteway sheet film holder.

Did see plenty of cool and expensive stuff though.

Hey Rick .. still adding to your 'museum' collection then :)
Rarely see photo fairs here to be honest, what ones we do have are all down south London way, probably just as well, as you say lots of cool expensive stuff though and would be tempted to spend I think .. nice pics by the way, some good results from the old cameras there .. !!

My digital Epson R-D1, after having served flawlessly for 7 years is finally starting to fail.
So I've purchased a replacement... A Leica M-E.

Good stuff. I recognize that glow of the Kodak Anastigmat.

Did you have any trouble shooting a slow film like this? I know they should have very low grain, but to get most out of it you'd need a tripod or a camera with more shutter speed options I feel.

I've been processing over 500 digital and analogue photos from the last big trip with 2nd Armored in Europe

Nice ones! I also have a roll of Fomapan 100 that I intend to try next year.

Yes, this Rollei Ortho 25 was actually quite tricky to shoot, and less forgiving than the other films that I have used in the previous years (not that I have a huge experience, but still...). As you said, it is slow and doesn't really allow to take "action" pics with such a camera without a tripod and/or higher speeds.

It was a good experience though, and some of my landscape shots are really nice. I wanted to try out the Ortho for its "different" vintage look as it is very sensitive to blue shades. My blue shirt on other pics and the sky look white.

Fomapan 100 is my main film. I expose it at EI80 to compensate the speed-drop when you develop in HC-110 or Rodinal.
It's cheap and gives me the 'period' feel I want.

I've been looking at getting some Kodak DX 5222 cine film lately. Film Photography Project sells it pre-spooled in 135/24. Or maybe just buy a 300' bulk roll

Some from MarketGarden; "Battle for the 11th Bridge" Event at Grave, taken with a Leica IIIc and the 5cm f/2.5 Hektor.

Here's something a little different that I picked up recently ..

How about a folding bellows camera capable of taking 120 film but can shoot in either 6 x 6 or 6 x 4.5 format, or on a dark slide, has helical focusing with rangefinder and interchangeable lens capability ... and all from 1937 .. !!

I'm talking about a Certo Super Sport, made in Germany from around 1937; It s a chunky piece of equipment and very solid, the rangefinder seems accurate and all speed work well, especially the slow ones, usually the ones to go in an old camera, and the aperture works well.

I've researched it somewhat and can find Super sport 'Dollys' and 'Dollinas' but cant find reference to (just) a Super Sport, normally they are marked Dolly or Dollina but this one is simply marked Super Sport as I say ... anyway pics attached for those interested, I may put a film through to try it and then move it on.

Extinction meter & Rangefinder combo is not something I've seen very often outside of the Perfex series.

Its certainly a chunky piece, weighs nearly 843 grams, that's nearly 2 pounds, you know your holding a camera that's for sure and much as I like it its not exactly a 'military' camera, ie one used by Warco's or Photogs, I've got a roll of Fomapan 200 which I will run through it to check it out thoroughly then may let it go as I say .. watch this space .. !!

Seems to be working alright at 1/5th or faster and the RF is a little dim. Got a roll of Fomapan 100 in it at the moment.

I wouldn't have bought it if I was looking for a regular/reliable shooter either. But the price was interesting enough to get it for the collection.

I have 3 1936/37 Contax II cameras and that 1942 III I bought of you (with a cracked part in the shutter housing, but still runs)

Currently running a roll of Ektar 100, that I was saving for no apparent reason, through the Zeiss Ikoflex III (model 853/16).

I was contacted by another photographer a while back concerning the repair I did on mine a few years ago.
Turns out he was more help to me than I was to him. This camera had a strange light leak that I had always put down to the schneideritis on the Tessar lens, but was in fact light getting past the velveteen seal around the tube at the back of the shutter. It had worn flat, so I replaced it with a strip of foam.
While I had the shutter off the camera, I also tightened up the wobble in the front plate and greased some axels in the winding mechanism.
Only thing I still haven't managed to fix is the part that unlocks the shutter button after spooling in a fresh film. Need to do that now by sticking a sharp object through the hole cut in the side cover near the crank hub.
