Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen.

Had a trip today to Spanhoe airfield, to lay a cross of poppies to the aircrews and soldiers who flew in C-47's from the runways. During Operation Market-Garden, the transports flew men of the 82nd Airborne on the first day, followed by troops on the 18th of September from the 1st Airborne Division, and later soldiers of the Polish Parachute Brigade.
A few other wreaths had already been laid at the small memorial outside the airfield, so the men who flew from here were not to be forgot on Remembrance Sunday.

Dear pioneer 64,

Many thanks for the comment, much appreciated. A lot of hard work by quite a few people to capture those images.

The first event for TfH is this weekend portraying Byelorussian Partisans at the Ostfront battle at Ashby-de-la-Zouch. A new and somewhat different from normal impressions, nothing like trying something new.

I would like to thank all the guys who attended the Ost Front battle over the weekend, codenamed Klarer Weg. I think we can say we did very well during the operations mounted by the organiser : Neil. Also many thanks to Richard for his usual hospitality, over the weekend in his Russian village.

Thanks Chris for posting the pictures. Another first for the group, portraying Byelorussian partisans, in the forests. Thanks also to Neil for organising the event. Has some great banter over the weekend, concerning the names of the attendees. :
Uncle Albert,
Gene Hunt,
David Essex,
The Hairy beast,
And last but not least, two extras from Force Ten from Navarone !

Not forgetting yourself, Paul Hollywood, with attitude!
Great images, good to see TFH still not afraid to break from the norm.

Best Wishes,
Simon

Always nice to do something new out the box

And firing a Ppsh 41 and a pps 43 was rather funky
