After occupation of the Netherlands the survivors of the RNN home fleet moved to Britain. They had a HQ in London and their vessels fought alongside other allied vessels. What I would like to know is if there was a Dutch equivalent to the WRNS? Did any Dutch women serve in the RNN in a similar capacity to British ladies in the WRNS. I have found references to some doing this in uniform without rank in Australia with the RNN EastIndies Fleet.

My profile-photo was made in 1974, when I was reenacting Naval-Bomb-Disposal during the family's summerholiday on the Normandy beaches.
(Allthough I didn't know at that time there was a thing called reenactment, and YES the bomb is LIVE!)
