I am actually asking this for the missus, she has recently obtained an ATS BD to accompany me on weekends. The problem is, she needs ATS Boots, size 3/4. She has brown 'sensible' shoes, with toecap, but I reckon these are more for Service Dress and skirts, can anyone help me as to where I can get them.
Much appreciated

I'd be interested in this as well... UK size 4 I think... I've had no luck at all from this area of the globe.
Cheers,
Kelly

I would perhaps ask Beryl Furey King

Her website it ATS Remembered. She has a large collection and would probably be able to direct you in the right direction. Alot of the time it is asking around.

I don't think any dealers sell them - you could always try Sentimental Journey...?

Sophie

I am a size four and had plenty of boots of the sizes you are asking so they are definately out there!

Good Luck

Sophie

Nice display pieces though! Does Sentimental Journey or anyone who might carry them attend Beltring or Detling? I thought it would be better to pick them up while over there than to have them shipped.

You have a size 5? I need to check the size charts... I think I am mistaken... I think size 4 is the men's shoe size I wear in UK sizes..
I have a wide foot at the ball and I wear anywhere from a ladies US size 6 to a 7 depending on the width... hmmmm... Best get me facts sorted! LOL

I thought that even if I wasn't at Beltring I do know a few who will be in attendance from the US and from the UK and I thought the US ones could either bring them back over or the UK ones could pick them up and bring them to Detling.

No, this will be my first year. I was going to attend Beltring or Detling and was advised by forum members that Detling was the better one for re-enactors. I'm very excited!
We actually have some folk over from the UK for our annual big event in Pennsylvania. Won't cost me much more than the trips up there if I time the airfare just right!

Well,
Detling is better really - there is certinaly more there for re-enactors and living historians I would say so.

How long have you been doing ATS?

Sophie

Yes, that's basically what everyone was saying, so I've kind of set my mind on that event.
Started collecting ATS and other British women's stuff about 3 years ago I guess... still adding on as I am able to find and finance items. Also still learning as there is no one here locally for me to interact with regarding kit, etc. I have received a lot of assistance and support from some male members of VERA and from Andy (Koslov). My tolerant contacts! LOL
I've been re-enacting about 6 1/2 years total.
Thanks to you and Lez both regarding info on the boots. I currently use a pair of riding boots as they are the closest I can come to real ones over here and of course they are not pebble grain. The style is very similar, but I'd like a real pair.
