OPERATION CARPETBAGGER

Film Report on the operations of the 801st/492nd Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force in supplying air drops to French resistance forces in England during World War II.
Describes the packing of guns, explosives, radio sets and breakable material in "H" and "C" type CLE containers and panniers; harness and parachute shops at Holme; loading air drop material into bomb racks of B-24s and briefing of plane crews at Harrington airfield.

Released in 1951, runs for just over 15 minutes.

There's some great footage here, many of the known photos from Harrington and Holme seem to be stills from this film. And there's a MIGHTY moustache in there too!

Enjoy,
Paul

Paul.

Think it is too Paul, the museum is an excellent collection of items and of the history behind them.
