Looks like a standard run of the mill type 3 tunic. Its a shame the stamps on the inside are so worn in the photo which makes dating it impossible. When it arrives see if you can get a better view of the stamps and we may be able to date it for you.
Looking at the condition of it its probaly a non issued tunic and has just come out of a store room at the end of the war, like 95% of them are. Again the stamps would show whether this was the case or not.

Not a big medal collector but the Order of the sacred treasure is awarded to those who have made distinguished achievements in research fields, business industries, healthcare, social work, state/local government fields or the improvement of life for handicapped/impaired persons so not a military award. 8th class is the lowest grade of the award.

Not that much.
Your prospective market knows what you paid for them and chose not to bid themselves?

Im affraid Ben that Sean is 100% spot on.

The medal, its a common medal and bottom of the rung at that, i wouldn't pay more than £20 for it.

The tunic, again would depend on whether it was issued or not. If i was selling i would probaly ask about £60. There really isn't a huge number of Japanese collectors out there and the ones who are out there tend to specialise in certain areas of kit.

You should be able to make your money back but if your looking a making a decent profit you bought the wrong stuff. The last type 3 tunic i got off ebay i paid about £15 for including the postage.

I suggest learning about a subject or item before you spend money on it?
That way you know what you are buying, unlike the Swedish tunics you bought last month?
At the moment I see someone with more money than knowledge hoping to land the super bargain from e-bay. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is...
Be sceptical, not incredulous.

Hello Ben, Dont get me wrong matey but unless you are buying these items to keep because you want to collect them and I can see, from my point of view that certain Japanese militaria is desirable why are you spending loads of money on something that appears you want to sell straight away?. Its your money my friend but as Sean said do a bit of research if its a dealer you want to become. If not spend your money on real good items of kit to extend your current portrayal, no-one likes to see others spending money on this hobby needlessly but we have all done it. With regards John.

Never ever ever ever ever buy Japanese kit in this country if you want to make a decent a profit. Its often 1 1/2 to 2 times the price you can get the kit from abroad. Unless its something rare and you can't find it somewhere always buy from abroad.

If you want to buy and sell Japanese kit i can help teach you what to look out for, if you find something good i may even buy it from you myself

I didnt realy have any intentions on selling it I just wanted to know what I could sell it for if anyone was ever interested. Regarding the swedish tunics only 2 of them were actualy swedish and the others were realy great with some original patchs and lots of metal insigna. I would like to collect more Japanese stuff becasue not many people do collect it so it is something a bit differnt to show to people when they look at my collection. But thanks any way for all the comments. I have just one more question what does it say on top on the medal box??
