:D Tanaka,
Here is a good joke.
A re enactor I know asked me about the Aircraft Fleet Air Arm, as he intends to do that scenario.
During the conversasion he said "The Fleet Air Arm had the best aircraft of the war and the best carriers."
I have not stopped laughing yet.

Maddog will soon take this off so be quick. Sorry Maddog our private joke.

He's probably thinking of the British Pacific Fleet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Pacific_Fleet

Saburo Sakai*, a Zero pilot with the Imperial Japanese Naval Air Service, in his book Samurai makes some interesting comments on the decline in relative quality of the Zero as the war went on. According to him it was, essentially, the same aircraft throughout and was simply outclassed by the newer designs brought in by the allies. Which the IJNAS had no response to.

*He's always my nomination for these 'Best Fighter Pilot' threads that crop up from time to time.
