Hey all, not like me to visit the 'other side' but I'm in need of your Wehrmacht knowledge - what is this pouch?

Image Image

The source for these photos says that it's a German signaller's pouch for holding the small field telephone switchboard/junction box that the Germans employed in the field, but with extensive Googling, this is the only reference/picture I can find of this type of pouch.

Anyone know if this is what it is?
Or whether it is actually something else?

Yes I think I've seen a reference for that on a website with German telephone equipment on it.

Ah, nice to see this thread still has life! Cheers for all your input chaps!
If it helps, the example I acquired is dated 1938 and waffenamt stamped . The previous owner (British) had used it to keep his mess tins in! I'm guessing it was worth picking up for £1?

Hehe, I very rarely sell anything, and when I do I'm not one for profit gaining - either asking for a just lower than 'fair' price or passing them on for free to someone who I know would appreciate and look after the item.
