Cannot upload pics Im afraid but have just bought a 37 Patt large pack of which I have not seen the type before, dated 1945 and unusual in that the strap ends are of a reddish bakelite type material and the shoulder straps are unlike anything else I have seen on a 37 patt pack.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

The bakelite tips are indicative of Canadian manufacture, they dipped the ends in a phenolic resin like substance from 1944 onwards on some webbing items to reduce the amount of brass needed. I think I have just picked up the same pack as you, I am assuming it is something to do with a 20mm anti aircraft gun, but like you I would welcome some more information. Is this the pack?
