Hi Andy. To what box are you refering, the grenade box?

Bald Eagle.

Hi Andy. The Mills Bomb Crate (Grenade box) is made out of proper wood as seen in the diagram (also look at the pics as posted by raj-rif, his pics are more or less the same as Sgtmoons diagram, only difference being the rope handles\metal handles).

You must be thinking of the Compo crate, which is made out of plywood & uses more or less the same construction. Hope this helps.

Bald Eagle.

Hi Sgtmoon (Pete). The WWI 303 ammo box & the WWII Compo crate plans would come in useful. If you would be so kind as to send them on to me that would be great. Thanking you in advance.

I can feel a blog or a website coming on if this suggestion isn't taken up by the mods.

Well done Mike Penver. It's about time we had something like this, although I think we should have a 'separate section' for plans of Ordnance\Equipment & ration crates & such instead of a 'stickie' (just the way they do on the US Reenactors forum). Just a thought :?: . Stickeis can be a good idea, until you end up with pages & pages of stickies within a certain section, & that can lead to peoples frustrations at trying to get to info within that specific section. This is why a separate section for the plans, PDFS or pictures of plans is a good idea :D Would you not agree!

Cool pics, American mines. A packed date of 1943 and the fuzes are dated 1956. I think this is a case of reusing the box.

All this info is great, it's a good idea for something to be sorted so we can access it easily and add pics of the different boxes I'm sure we all have in our collections.
What would be best, sticky or website?

Don't think there is need of a website, just a different "separate" section within this site would suffice.
