Hi everyone,
Forgive me if this has already been asked. I am hoping to put together a 1940 Infantry impression. I am looking for sources for the webbing, back packs etc...

I'd appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Cornelius

Hi Cornelius,

here is a great website with a description and pictures of all the equipment of a French soldier in 1940:
http://grca.free.fr/soldat_fran%C3%A7ais_en_40/effets_portes_par_soldat_fran%C3%A7ais_40.htm

You can browse the categories (on the right side of your screen) for the uniform, weapons, equipment...

This one sums up the soldier's equipment:
http://www.leslufteaux.com/reconstitution-historique-france-40-des-lufteaux/equipement-france-40/

(A great French reenacting group).

The only website I know for repros is Schipperfabrik:
http://schipperfabrik.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=162_180

But you can browse the French eBay for original stuff.

Hope this helps

Pierre

A friend and I have found Delcampe a good source to look for the webbing items alongside ebay - http://www.delcampe.net

I've just been informed, upon my enquiring as to the availability of French webbing, that Schipperfabrik are discontinuing their French line!

Sad to have that confirmed. I suspected as much as they've had nothing listed for a few months. I was hoping they were just waiting for new stock.

Yep, bad news... They were pretty much the only source of repro French items.
