Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I am a volunteer at a museum, with as usual very little money and want to try and make some of the uniform for home guard, such as hats, gaters, arm bands, ties etc. Does anyone have patterns that I could have a copy of to make reproduction and recommend stockist of material (and what I should be asking for)? Thank you for your help.

I would buy repro stuff from someone like Soldier of Fortune as you will need to be a very skilled tradesman to make up uniforms and webbing and the materials and fittings are not freely available.

What he said. Your best bet is asking a local group for advice.

I think by the time you buy material it would be just as cheap to go to SOF.

What Museum do you volunteer at? I work at Brooklands Museum and would love to get a Home Guard group in action here, we even have a Pill Box to man!
