NAReS are one of the organisations already being consulted with, and an appropriate response will be sent!

Very interesting reading, thank you.

I was under the misunderstanding we were living in a democracy and we had freedom in this country.

Freedom of expression is essential in enabling democracy to work and public participation in decision-making. Citizens cannot exercise their right to vote effectively or take part in public decision-making if they do not have free access to information and ideas and are not able to express their views freely. Freedom of expression is thus not only important for individual dignity but also to participation, accountability and democracy. Violations of freedom of expression often go hand in hand with other violations, in particular the right to freedom of association and assembly.

They need a new set of guidelines, those are from 2002 and do not cover the implications of the VCRA.

Are Nares pushing for the evidencs of the National Ballistics service to be challanged? as Its neither fair r transparent that they can make claims and hide behind secrecy to influence things.

I suppose it is time for this to come up again.

We are in a time of austerity. The government cannot afford to make changes.

They sort of Do but don't have any corresponding UK legislation to actually do anything forceful

That seems like bad advice seeing that the directive has not even been adopted by the European parliament yet and would still have to be voted into UK law after that.

Seems that a company that makes money from selling deacts can't resist the urge to create a rush

Aren't these the same people who had nine (or was it eleven) Deact lewis guns at last years W&P for £5995 each?

scaremongering might make real cash

RIF manufacture ,ay make less but possibly about to become a lot more desireable
