This is guidance aimed at Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs staff, but the sections on deacts and blank-firers are especially interesting.

Cheers,
Glen.

It's internal guidance (and I emphasise the word guidance) from the C-series, but as you'll see the document has been edited to allow it to be released into the public domain.

Be aware that section 6.15 has had large chunks removed and what you see is not necissarily what you'll get!

Dave the HO (who prefers the X-guidance!).

Sorry... perhaps I should have said "This is Guidance aimed at HMRC staff....." at the beginning.

However, in the interests of reference material being available instead of heresay, it is still worth reading properly and having available as a reference.

Cheers,
Glen.

I wasn't having a pop - honest! What I meant was that it is not written on tablets of stone (in the same way the ACPO firearms guidance isn't) and just because it states X doesn't mean that will happen in every case. I use guidance such as this daily (sadly), and deviation from it is the norm in order to adapt to individual cases.

I agree though, as reference material, it has its uses.

Dave

go to www.hmso.gov.uk and search for 'firearms act 1968'. You'll also need to find the various amendments
