I was going to do a joke here about not wanting him as he couldn't spell insurance but I couldn't get my misspellings of insurence to post with the strike out line through them.
So, have a look at www.AFRA.org.uk and see if the association offers what you want? For the individual it offers the freedom to attend events outside of any group system and still have the cover available. If you only do a couple of events as a group but your chaps want to do other gigs then the flexible nature of AFRA is ideal.

Try the Shooters Rights Association. A friend reccomended them and they have been really good.

Be very careful about loaning original items...also, please keep an eye out for :

Women's Navy Great Coat
Green floor length 1930s evening dress with sleeves set on net.
Blue and white rayon dress with peplum
Black velvet halter necked dress with silver shot thread skirt (may still have Harrods label in it) I have photos of all of these items and I know where they are in Scunthorpe, but would appreciate a nod if they come up for sale. [/color]

Kate advise your friend not to touch shooters rights with a barge pole, when we were looking at insurance we tried to ask seriously important questions about their cover and all i can say is the answers we got were A) dubious in such a way that we would have been covered for everything you could ever imagine happening including global conflict breaking out at a show. B) they were very evasive about certain points and when we enquired about the guy that runs it we found he wasnt licenced to offer insurance either. we contacted john hughes formally of the insurance partnership in hull and found him a pleasure to work with and he is now offering insurance in his own right, details can be found in the section of the forum that deals with insurance

Seem to better these days, years ago the group james was with was covered by SRA, he wasn't impressed either, but they seem to have sorted themselves out and the policy doc is up to speed. I'll scan it in and you can have a look see on facebook.

We might change to the insurer we were previously with through SO44 when this runs out, The guy there has been really helpful.
