Have a pair of blue Kragenspiegel made by Soldat. Great but expensive.

Got my second pair of (sani) blue kragenspiegel from http://www.historical-militaria.com/ last week. They look also very good and not expensive, good service, fast shipping....

You also need shoulder boards and a qualificaton badge for on the left sleeve... Try Ebay for the qualification badge. They turn up from time to time for a few Euro/Pound.

If you want to wear a Tuchrock then it had blue piping around the color, but have also seen them without...
I am just working to add the piping on mine Tuchrock :P

More seen on the Tuchrock then Fliegerbluse were the medical caduceus snake and staff gilt cipher attached to the shoulder boards... Mosty worn by officers, but there are photographs also other ranks wear them (its just an option)

P

I haven't seen the snake & staf symbol on an enlisted rank before mostly on officers and NCO.

It seems rare that Sani did wear them, but found a photo in Soldat Volume 8 page 246... of a unteroffizier...

(By the way:- will not wear them in Dordt)

Hello Pietje, Durhamtrooper

The Medical Wand of Healing/Aesculapius (as opposed to the Caduceus - Transport) features on both the Trade Badge and Shoulder Boards. The medical insignia go something like this:

Krankentrager - No Trade Badge, No Shoulder Insignia
Sanitater - Trade Badge, No shoulder insignia
Medical Officer - No Trade Badge, Shoulder Aesculapius insignia (Gold)
Medical Officer in Training (Oberfahnrich or Staff Sergeant rank) - No Trade Badge, Sergeant NCO Shoulder Boards with Aesculapius Insignia (Silver)

The last one would explain why you see 'NCOs' with the Officer Medical insignia on their shoulder boards.

PS - Sorry about the late reply - I only get let out every now and then.
