Hi there - here's couple of my photos. Preparing for late war MP impression - think will be 4th ID (for now during fights in Germany in March/April 1945). Me and my friends still completing all needed equipment :)

Will be grateful for any comments about unneeded or needed gear /uniform details !

Thanks 8)

Sure, for this session I forgot to attached them. Have all of them. Think for garrison impression to paint one of M36 belts on white - read that was common during WWII, wasn't it ?

Ok, will do it :)

Thanks a lot for couple words.

Now we're preparing 2 folding tables for our MP point and waiting for our flysheet tent (hope we'll get it asap). What about weapons - sure, we'll do our best to figure it out, I know that the most often weapon used by MP was M1 Carbine.

Actually Arthur the "white" MP web set was more "Hollywood" than reality...usually the whites were more reserved for HQ/Ceremonial or Embassy duties rather than usual day to day duty.

Its an MP "ism"...:-)

Regards

Lloyd

Arthur MPs were usually armed with M1 Carbines....NO BAYONET LUGS..;-) or M1903A3 Rifles

Lloyd,
Am I correct in saying that the M1917 rifle was also used by some MP units?

Cheers
Joe

Yes Joe...especially early war.....and later rear rear rear echelon troops and MPs can be seen with M1917 Rifles as late as 1944 freeing up M1 Garands for front line troops.

regards

Lloyd

So for late war impression like we'd like to do 1 Garand in group is possible ? Rest should be armed in M1 Carbines.

Bang on Arthur......1 x Garand is possible late war when production was speeded up and they were available.

M1903 A3 would be MORE accurate...but yes possible for a Garand and associated webbing

Regards

Lloyd

That only seems more common in Armoured Division MPs.....normal "leg" infantry MPs seem to have m1 carbine or M1903 rifles...

Here is me in my whites: Image

I Haven't got any decent shots in my field gear. I normally carry an M3 grease gun. I also have an M1917 .45 revolver I carry sometimes with ammo pouch and half moon clips.

Now then thats not too shabby Ryan...well done...although grease guns are more the bastion of the "dirty dozen" than reality...and you appear to have "fat" US Navy ribbons on rather than army ones....

but looking good

Lloyd
