I've noticed a tendency amongst people to utilise Army pattern buckleback jeans either of patch pocket or hung front pockets type when representing a Navy impression.
There is a specific type of trouser for navy use which is not very similar to either main army type. The matter is not helped by dealers selling them as USN.
Beware !!!!

It would be helpful if you mentioned the culprit.

Yep. I think people get away with it because not many of us know what the real stuff looks like
The stuff is similar but not right really.

Sm wholesale do excellent repros, ww2 impressions likewise. I don't doubt that at the fronts offerings will be similarly high end and correct. Both jeans and chambray shirts

Rufout boondockers are good for seabees and beach battalions as well as other shore based roles, otherwise black capless low boots which are completely interchangeable with capless black Oxford shoes. (I've seen these worn with dungarees with both black and white socks) a web belt in black with open frame or brass plate buckle. A belt loop and clip for a clasp knife seems a common addition in many trades.

Repro Dixie cup hats seem to me to be too tall in the brim (and the material too ribbed) so originals are best sought

The SoF jeans are not correct for navy use, nor are the patch pocket ones from seal. Each are perfectly acceptable for Army use.

Buzz rickson deck jackets are pure sex, pricey as bell but available via eastman, the pike brothers one lacks the US NAVY on the back and is very well made
