Hi

Pogorzelec is OK, but it may be difficult to pronunciate it. If you are looking for polish surname that is nice and easy just drop me a PM and I wil help you.

Regards

No, What I mean is I have a friend who's father may have been in the Polish Parachute Brigade, named Zigmund Pogorzelec, and wondered if anyone had any record of him.

:)

Hi

I just googled my grandfathers names just to see what popped up and you were number ne on google.

My grandfather was a Zigmund Pogorzelec, born in Lodz, Poland, he fought and took three bullets at Monte Cassino, i never knew him inwas born april 81, he died shortly after. My father who died last year told me he didnt really talk about the war but only that he fought hand to hand at Monte Cassino. My father donated by grandfathers bayonet at his request to the local musuem in oldham (in his words, it did the job it was made to do, and no longer has no use in our family but should be shown to those who have not experienced war and show how brutal it sometimes needs to be)

I was wondering if you could let me know the rest of the story from your post if any, just out of pure interest as this person shares the same name as my grandfather.

Many thanks
Andy Pogorzelec
