Does anyone know if there was any RAN crewed MTBs or vessels of the like in inshore waters during WW2.

I don't know about ships but there were quite a few RANVR officers who came to Britain and volunteered their services as render mine safe officers, some very courageous men defusing parachute mines during the blitz and after.

Not that I know of Digger. there may have been the odd bod here and there, drafted for training or such, much like a lot of ex RN were drafted into the RAN in Australia.

The RAN did send ships to the Med (the scrap Iron Flotilla ). They also took part in the invasion of Sicily. But there main operations were protecting Australian shipping, down under. They also served with the British Pacific Fleet.

Thanks for the Gen fellas, just thinking that if I got a square rig or PO uniform and portrayed RAN in the UK then it would have been seen on the streets as it were.
