Hi chaps and a Happy New Year to all.

A puzzling little question which someone hopefully will know.

Its about a period (1940's) RN officers White shirt.

RN officers White shirt of the time had a spear point collar with ‘no’ breast pocket - placket front where the buttons go and 'no' shoulder epaulets - but what type of sleeve cuff had it?

I know on the ‘Mess dress' White shirts they had French cuffs = (double turn back cuffs) which had to be fastened with cuff links, BUT did they wear that French cuff with their No5 SD uniform or was it just with standard buttoned cuffs?
