Hi guys,

I'm asking here since the USAAF field is not where I'm the most knowledgeable...

Could anyone identify these two strips?
They are made of a yellow light cotton fabric, respectively 9 cm and 9,5 cm wide, and 164 cm and 182 cm long. They end up with a padded pocket with a stamp on it reading "Official business only. Penalty for private use 1500[?]. Mail or deliver to nearest Army Air Forces Troops". A snap link is stitched to that pocket.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Air dropped message pouches...the orange "streamer" was an indicator to ground troops that the pouch was dropped and falling to ground.

Regards

Lloyd

Do these pouches have an official designation?

Thanks! So I take it the snap link is for attaching a weight to the pouch.
