Well, what can you do, the man on the left is portraying a Yank, what did yanks know about Greeks? or about what the Greek Army did yn 1941? nothing, they didint even care, they werent even Europeans, what should they care? especially when the bring all the money and weapons to win the war. Of course if the subject on the left would be dressed as a Tommy andk keep saying that now theres a real insult, considering that the Brits know how much did the Greeks do and sufferef, side by side with them.

In the late 80s, a British 'comedian' called Harry Enfield created a character called Stavros, who was a London-Greek kebab salesman (even though kebab shop owners are mostly Turks, Iranians and Arabs in London). He greeted his audience with the phrase 'Hello Peeps', short for people I think. It was borderline racist and about as funny as an impacted bowel.

I too am bored by the 15000th US reenactment. I reenact Soviet, and am starting to collect Finnish, so I would count myself on the 'obscure' side of the community. I just thought the cartoon was funny (and the Evzone quite well drawn too).

It wasn't an attack on the Greeks.

well, I actually was referring to the old days when the Greek Army kicked Italy's Ass and hold the German Attack to their country for a while.
In any case, almost every pic of Greek soldiers I see all are wearing different equipment, what could be the most official one? Ive seen french like leather equipment, and other gear that seemed to be Austro hungarian

At that time, the Greek Army was going through great changes in weaponry. Those units that didn't have the new weapons would keep the equipment that went with it.

Oggy-Frost_2Para @ You are Completly Right it was the time that Primeminister ioannis Metaxas was Radically Modernized the Armed Forces Absolute Everything was to be Modernized .But Unfortunatley the beginning of WW2 destroy all this Ambitious Plans.I Think had WW2 Begin 2x Years Later the Greeks were Similar and Better Armed had More fighter Planes from Different Origins and a Standardized equipment..

It could have been great. Now regarding uniforms: the Greek Army used a garment very similar to the British SD blouse, the one used in WWI, but they also used a small overcoat, without pockets and a single line of buttons, more of a winter uniform. In warmer climates such as crete, what would they use?

But the Adrian helmet was used by: France, Poland, Yugoslavia, Greece, Soviet Union and various smaller states.
i suppose that the British couldn't export that many to other counties pre-war because they had to supply the empire's troops as well. By 1942 they were maknig vast amouts which they suppiled to almost all troops in exile.
