Thanks for posting that, nice to see.
Looks like it still has the original engine .... does anyone know what happened to all the Spanish ones used in the B of B film, they had the Merlin in I think, had an uncharacteristic bulge under the prop to accommodate it.

One still flies on the Uk scene. Was at Victory show the other year. You really should go, it is an event you would enjoy and could bring something to.

I think all of the Me 109's and Heinkels in the film came from the Spanish Air Force of the time and all had the Merlin in them, most of them I think were variants built in Spain and based on the original aircraft, being modified for the film to look more like the real thing.

They were all sold off after filming ended

Of the 27 that were used in the film only 7 known to be Flying in Europe There is another in France being made to fly as well.
We have 2 of them and number of them are in Germany which 2 have been fitted with DB engines

Most of them went to states either to museums or members of the Confederate Air force as at the same time of filming they were looking at purchasing aircraft but got into a deal with film company to help with the filming and payment were a couple of aircraft and extra spares for there 'Buchons'.

We may in the future get to see a real Emil in our skies as there are 2 in private hands in the UK

The 2 UK based 'Buchons' were flying this year at Duxford at flying legends which one is in it Film colours as Yellow 10.
In 2011 the UK ones were joined by a 3rd on transit from the states to Germany which was a impressive sight which is the most we have had flying over here since the filming of both Piece of Cake and the Memphis Belle.

Bellow are the 2 we have at this years Flying legends
