On the Sunday we moved up from Mooshof to Weeze to follow the route of advancee into Kevelaer. Units represented: Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, Black Watch (51st Highland Dvision) and the organising unit East Yorkshires of third British division.

Nice photo. Really looks authentic. Did you have any problems with the locals? The reason I ask is that a friends had their RAF Married Quarters in Weeze in the 1980's (They were at Laarbruch, I was at Wildenrath). There was an "urban myth" that for many years after the War the RAF would not post Scots to RAF Laarbruch, because when the 51st Div came through that area it was literally rape and pillage.

Again well done. Jamie

Cartoss,

Actually there were no problems at all, only one guy from the green party (I assume) started bitching about us wearing military uniforms.
Some older people recognised the uniforms, but most younger ones didn´t know what they were. We are thinking of doing something like this more often in this area.
