I see some dangerous antics in that clip! The German guy firing pointblank into the dead guy on the floor at 3.27

Perspective probably makes it look like hes firing into the 'dead' guy, chances are it was fired at the ground.

Fond 70s memories travelling down from Glasgow (original 82nd Airborne Group), and of Mike and Badger Ross, also the Christmas and other 40s bashes in London after our usual pilgrimage to the 'Angel at Islington' shop to empty our piggy banks

The last photo (US Para leaning on Jeep with "Nuts!" caption) is Quartermasters at the Angel's Mickey Boniface, who, sadly died when he wrecked his Porsche ("It's the way he would have wanted to go"). RIP Mickey, and I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that you've been immortalized (and getting off with the sexy babe, Heidi) in my novel 'Pilgrim's Banner'.

I was at Molash with my wife, Vannessa, who was one of the US nurses, She recalls helping one of the injured troops, who received even more injuries when he fell off the back of the ambulance!

There's also a picture of me in GI gear, with my trusty M1 Garand. Have to confess that I've copied it into my album.

Does anyone remember Dave Humphrey's wedding, when we all packed the church wearing BRA full dress uniforms? The bride's relatives were a bit surprised, to say the least.

Those were nice memories Tony, was it really so many years ago? Must have been.

I still have more pictures intended for this thread, I will find the time to post them.

Best wishes, Bill.

BRA had very high standards in safety but also allowed people freedom that did push the safety limits, face shots were rare but happened as they still do now, MK8 thundies fired from K98 grenade launchers....not what you want to find fizzing between your legs  ...
No deaths/No serious injuries that I am aware of over the years..we all had to wear tin hats once in the field, always cleared weaps and have NCO check em before leaving field and entering car park area, something that I dont see groups doing now.
No Alcohol in the field....
Had one occasion when some pillock had not emptied his 410 shot out properly, One of the Hampshires received a ball in the webb of his rifle AS HE WAS AIMING so that WAS close.

Good memories. ammo cheap/petrol cheaper!!

Going through all my old photos, which I've been scanning into my computer, I came across this picture. It was taken at Dave (of Quartermasters at the Angel) Humphey's wedding. The blonde on the right is my wife Vannessa 'the Amazon Queen'.

The wedding was great fun; all of Dave's guests turned up in full WWII outfits - the bride's family were more than a little surprised, I seem to recall.

Well! That was a trip down memory lane! I even got an uncredited photo appearence! (the three GI's in Normandy - thats me in the middle) I started in 1980/81 with Keith Whitelocks 1st Inf, moved on to do various Tommy units before the East Yorks turned up and stuck with them. For my sins I was Vice-Chairman (no pun intended!) and newsletter editor. Those days were truly groundbreaking - no instant GI from the shop then, we had to source stuff from America!
I have a BRA Veterans group on Facebook - all old hands welcome!
