Heehee! No better than it was then, although I can ask, "Is this the right train for Pisa central" which has got me out of a few scrapes....

I thought it was summer 1980? But I can read through the older newsletters if need be?

Nice to see Johnny Costino and the others. It was the only time I saw Paul Stelb in a British uniform!

Cheers, Bill

It must have been repeated as I would only have been 6 then and cant imagine it being memorable from that age - I would think mid-80s I saw it, but maybe I was just an odd kid, Im an odd adult so thats possible.

the russel harty filming at caerphilly was when I was when I was 15 so that would make it 1980, remember it well

I have reproduced Wayne┬┤s Youtube links on the German Language forum to show how it was years ago in the UK.

The response has been very positive, so for those that can understand German, here is a "Live Link-up" to the other parallel thread:

You were faster than me Wayne

I did not take part in the Pebble Mill showing, but I was in "Collecting Now". I am the one using the blank-firing Panzerb├╝chse 39 (Anti-tank rifle). Nice to see Danny on there too.

Cheers, Bill.

Johnney you were a born actor in that and also remember Breakfast TV when we went to the Stage door canteen. All I could manage to get into the Russell Harty show was a close up of my legs and torso, jumping the ditch. The main highlight for me was the stress in trying to get the kubel running. Everyone in the end giving up, pushing it up the hill to let it freewheel down to get the shot.

A few interesting points about "COLLECTING NOW"

They filmed Bruno Palmer close up, to show the detail of his kit, take a closer look again.
Who noticed that during the close ups of his kit, his Infantry Assault Badge changed colour from silver to bronze, and the Anti-partisan badge moved position upwards, all within a few seconds by magic!

I noticed this because I was the only one who wove cotton around the sides of the Anti-Partisan Badge, due to the pin being insecure. The 20 second film shot, is two different people

They also said that bruno Palmer was aka as Heinkel. The old timers will tell you that he has been mixed-up with our one and only Otto Heinkel

Cheers, Bill.
