Hmmm, I see where Nomad is coming from, we are all more used to looking at photos from the era in B&W, or sepia.

However, in real life the colours are just as important, so if you are 'recording' something as accurate as possible, it has to be in colour and that is the dilemma.

Excellent shot by the way :D

Thank you for the comments. I didn't set that one up. The light was right and i only had that one chance. My partner also tried to get it but the light failed us. We both loved the way her red lipstick was so pronounced. :D

thanks again for the imput! I think its great to hear different ideas! I've had things entered in competions and it always makes me feel unconfortable! I have to keep telling myself that all that matters that i like the picture!

Nice shot.

Personally I prefer the colour version.

Only way I think it could be improved, is to bring out the girls hat in the non-reflection part. I think if the hat were in the reflection it would clutter that part of the pic.

You may like to try reducing the colour saturation except (perhaps) for her lipstick.

Anyone fancy critiquing this one. I noticed the nose stud afterwards!

I personally cant see the co-relation between the two ie; the girl and the soldiers .. what has she got to do with them or Dunkirk for that matter .. sorry, just my take on it .. !!

yep another good one but would you see a lady like that on the Dunkirk beache's as for the nose stud take it off the finished print ?
