Myself and Paul (Commando Sniper) were a tad bored at home today while the WAG's were out shopping...

Reminds me of a time I went into a gun shop in Lancs, knew the owners, shopped there and often dropped in for coffee ... Mike the owner showed me a snipers rifle he had in ... It was an Enfield .303 (I think) the interesting thing about it was a modification to the magazine where once fired the cartridge didn't eject but moved back into a collection space in the magazine .. It was a long time ago and I cant recall any other details, but I remember clearly operating the action with a case and watching it fall back into the space at the rear of the magazine ... anyone heard or seen of a self policing round system like that ..??

We've just been donated an ex argentine 120 mm thomson brandt mortar that was captured as war booty by the RAF after the Falklands war, its quite impressive as it has been displayed at the headquarters of 8 sqn in Waddington. They had no more need for it as its not been looked after and needs a repaint, but apart from the baseplate its almost complete, it will look good on the back of my landy being towed. Next thing to get will be some rounds and boxes to display at cockpitfest in june, should look good.
