I've recently come into the possession of a fabulous WW2 ambulance driver's tunic. I need some trousers to go with it. Does anyone know where I can get hold of any. Colour match doesn't have to be perfect but I'd really like them to be in the same material.

maybe you can do what i did for my daughter.... i had a pair of 'well used' BD trousers, a few small rips and holes, wearing thin at the knees etc... i chucked them in the washing machine with a pack of dylon navy blue . came out almost black, perfect match for the ARP battledress jacket she has.

and on the plus side, now they are so dark, the repairs dont show.

I may have some 1950s ladies CD trousers in the loft. I will have a look for you

Kindest Regards

BD trousers. Hadn't though of that. A good tip if all else fails.

Thanks Ben. It would be great if you have a pair. I'm only diddy, but my sister is pretty handy with a needle and thread if needs be.

Many thanks

Georgie

The ladies slacks fasten at the side, so BD will be obviously different if that matters to you.
As you're a small size, I think you'll come across a pair eventually. Also look for ARP/CD/AFS/NFS womens slacks/trousers right up to the 1960's.
