Looks like a common problem for us modern girls! I couldn't possibly work in mine, as I can't bend my lallies- I could only do work where I’d be standing up! :)

From looking at pictures they rarely did work in them, they normally wore the dungarees, far more comfortable! :)

From speaking to umpteen land army vets they all tried to keep the aertex shirt and breeches for best and worked in dungarees. Thats assuming that they ever saw them in the first place.

Okay, I'm reopening a can of worms. Before those recent ones showed up on ebay I found a timber corps cap badge last year. I since have everything I need but the green jumper. Does anyone have a color they can get me, not a name, but a photograph? I can make a work jumper but I'd really love to try and make the green jumper for dressing out. If not a color, how about a recent vendor willing to work with a girl in the US? No real hurry. We are already at record hot temps and my uniform will be fine without one for now, but I am really anxious to show off my new Limber Jill impression now it's "complete".

Oh, and any decent hats as well. No use ruling out the other Land Girls if that is the major thing to change.

The only difference between land girl and lumber jill was the hat, if early war years, and cap badge. Have a look at our womenofww2 website for colours. I take ordersfor all sorts of knitting providing you can wait for me to finish the Dr Who jumper someone has ordered.

I've got a friend who needs a WLA Timber Corps beret badge for an event - the brown plastic ones. I know they are really rare (and expensive when you do see them!) - she would be quite happy with a repro one, but I can't seem to find anyone making or selling them! Any ideas?
