Please read the following before posting in the Sales Section:

Firstly:
This is a WWII forum; therefore this sales section is here for WWII items ONLY. Exceptions are allowed at the discretion of a moderator. Such as post war BD/webbing etc that can be altered to WWII use. All WWII reproductions are allowed. Obvious post war militaria e.g.: Vietnam, Falklands related will be deleted.

Sellers:

a) You must have a minimum of 10 posts (not including off topic) before you can offer an item for sale - this is to prevent fraudsters from registering, trying to sell a non-existent item and then disappearing with your money. Those who post items for sale and have less than 10 posts will have their text removed until appropriate actions have been taken to verify whom they are. If the seller pm's appropriate info etc to a moderator, their sale will be placed back into their thread.

b) Your profile should be filled out to a minimum level - location and interests at the very least.

c) Sellers are only allowed to post one thread per section, per day e.g. one in British, one in American, one in German etc. This is to prevent one seller from taking up an entire page of the forum.

d) You must list your items with a clear, valid description at all times. For example, threads titled "READ THIS - SALE" or "MORE ITEMS FOR SALE" will be locked and the contents removed until the seller better describes the goods for sale. We recommend you use this format - "COUNTRY - ITEM(S)" e.g. "US - Helmets and Webbing"

----------------------------------------------------------

Weapons:
For any weapons being advertised, they should clearly state the following:
- deactivated, with or without the certificate.
- an airsoft/BB type or other replica.
- converted or purpose built blank firer.
- live weapons for FAC transfer only.
- any other alterations to the weapon.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ.
When selling a Realistic Imitation Firearm. Attention should be paid to the VCR Bill which became law on Oct 1st 2007.
It is the responsibility of the VENDOR (seller) to ensure the Purchaser is entitled to buy the item from you. Failure to do so may result in prosecution.
Please refer to the extracts from the Bill below.

Quote:
Section 30 Manufacture, import and sale of realistic imitation firearms
(1)
A person is guilty of an offence if
(a) he manufactures a realistic imitation firearm;
(b) he modifies a firearm or an imitation firearm so that it becomes a realistic imitation firearm;
(c) he sells a realistic imitation firearm; or
(d) he brings a realistic imitation firearm into Great Britain or causes one to be brought into Great Britain.

(2)
The Secretary of State may by regulations
(a) provide for exceptions and exemptions from the offence under subsection (1); and
(b) provide for it to be a defence in proceedings for such an offence to show the matters specified or described in the regulations.

Also from Section 24 (24a)

Quote:
24A Supplying imitation firearms to minors
(1) It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm.
(2) It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Specific exemptions and defences are:

Quote:
Section 37 provides various defences to the new offence. It makes it a defence to show that the manufacture, importation, sale or modification was only for the purpose of making the realistic imitation firearm available for:
- a museum or gallery;
- theatrical performances and rehearsals of such performances;
- the production of films and television programmes;
- the organisation and holding of historical re-enactments; and
- crown servants.

And where a person claims to be a re-enactor or Living Historian

Quote:
20. The regulations also specify the persons who can claim the defence for historical re-enactment. This is restricted to those organising or taking part in re-enactment activities for which third party liability insurance is held.

We advise forum members to uphold these guidelines by checking persons age, reenactment group and PLI by obtaining appropriate proof where needed.

Other weapons: (Anything covered in Offensive Weapons Act.)

For example:
Restriction of Offensive Weapons Act 1959
1.(1) Any person who manufactures, sells or hires or offers for sale or hire, or exposes or has in his possession for the purpose of sale or hire or lends or gives to any other person—
(a)any knife which has a blade which opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife, sometimes known as a “flick knife” or “flick gun”; or
(b)any knife which has a blade which is released from the handle or sheath thereof by the force of gravity or the application of centrifugal force and which, when released, is locked in place by means of a button, spring, lever, or other device, sometimes known as a “gravity knife”,
shall be guilty of an offence...

1.(2) The importation of any such knife as is described in the foregoing subsection is hereby prohibited.

Please change your thread title and write SOLD when said item/items are indeed not for sale anymore.
Thank you for your help - the Moderator Team

For Sale and wanted sections

It is very annoying when you're trying to sell or buy something and someone turns your advert into a discussion on something else. You see that there's a new post and think it's someone interested in the item, only to find out it's turned into a topic about something else!

Only post in a classified if you are either a prospective buyer or seller. Otherwise the offending post will be deleted without warning by the mod team.

Cheers, Bill.
