Should have had Danny Dyer as Walker :D

Though the guy they've got to play him is like a cut-price Danny Dyer. Danny Dyer without the wannabe hardman attitude. Walkers not that much of a psycho. Plus the guy they've got to play him has pretty much been riffing off the cockney wheeler deeler act in everything he's been in - from Atonement to Made in Dagenham. (Well - except for his brief role as mentally retarded murder suspect in 'Red Riding'....!)

Q. Why is Godfrey carrying a rifle?

Q. Why does Mainwaring look like an unconfident scared schoolboy in an oversized uniform rather than the over-confident and pompous character he should be?

Q. Whats going on with their trousers/gaiters - something doesn't look quite right?

Q. Why is Sgt Wilson surreptitiously giving the middle finger? Could this be Bill Nighy giving a subtle wave to his casting agent?

Not impressed I'm afraid. This film promises to be ghastly.

Short answer for this one... Bill Nighy suffers from Dupuytren's contracture, a condition which causes the ring and little finger of each hand to be permanently bent inwards towards the palm.

You can see this in most of the films he is in.

As for the uniform. Mainwaring and Wilson look like they are wearing untailored SOF ones to me. And shouldn't Mainwaring be wearing brown boots?

Yes he did, and his webbing should be blancoed, he did in the series and Godfrey never wore his medal ribbons mm his uniform, nor did Wilson! I'm just nit picking now..

Also,

Q. Why is Mainwaring's holster a Canadian pattern one?

Q. Why does Godfrey's BD trousers have their map pocket on the side? Badly converted '49patt?

Q. Why does Jones' left (our right) brace strap has a random 2" buckle slid onto it?
