And our unit's medic helmets have to be painted the same as the other two medic's lids.

I love the vast majority of different markings for Medics helmets, there are many variations within the 82nd Airborne alone.

Just as a matter of interest, the reason for the wide marking variation is that official regulations for Geneva Convention markings on the helmets didn't actually come into effect until 1946 / 47, so it was down to the individual units to select a pattern.

I have some photo's downloaded of the internet which gives a large variaty of painted markings as well as some cloth crosses on helmets.
Basically anything goes...

Yes, there was certainly a very wide variety of Medical insignia and patterns used during WW2.

i have issued with orders fo a circle 6" in diameter with a red cross slighlty smaller as per unit regulations :lol:

Just out of interest as i cant remember where you posted it but what are you charges for Helmets?

As i may need a 3rd Bttn, 327th Glider Infantry Regiment NCO one some time next year.

Offcourse not everyone wants a helmet with divisional markings.
Here a Front seam Mc Cord, with NCO stripe.
He wants to use it for actual jumping.

(Edit, the owner has done 11 jumps allready with this helmet).
