I need help getting blueprints for Bren Gun, Boys Rifle and Vickers MG Mounts for the Universal Carrier. The most important is the Bren Gun, so we can manufacture new ones for a Universal Carrier.

Or if anyone has any of the above for sale, please contact me.

There is no mount for the Bren Gun unless you are talking about the AA Mount fitted on Mk1's.

The Bren just rests in the slot.

Really? I was always under the impression it had a mount. Odd.

What about the Boys? Surely you'd lose a shoulder firing it from the front port (as I've seen it mounted in many photos).

Odd thing, I've read so much literature on the Universal Carrier, but not one of them mentions how the weapons are kept in the firing port, so I assumed there was some mount.

I would suggest you get some manuals which are available as reprints from a number of dealers including -

To clarify:

Those are the mounts I'm trying to get details on. They are not mentioned in any manuals I've found, nor in any books I've read, at least not in detail, nor are they referenced by name/type/model.

The second picture one of the very early mounts built on to a Canadian production Mk1* Carrier.

If your Carrier is a Mk11 the later mount will be more appropriate and is pictured certainly in the Canadian Parts List.

The first pictire is artistic licence and apart from pre-war Carrier's Vickers were not normally mounted in this way. The Bren similar.

The two Carrier Books by Nigel Watson will be your Bible on this. http://www.universalcarrierbook.co.uk/

Richard Fisher will have manuals showing the mount you can down load from his site. http://www.vickersmachinegun.org.uk/
