Was wondering if anyone had any photos/information/drawings/knew of any surviving examples etc of British Assault Boats and Storm Boats? Seen a few photos of small assault boats, both wooden and collapsible ones made of canvas carrying troops, powered by oar. Also heard of a motor driven Storm Boat which could carry vehicles (presumably just small ones like Jeeps, Motorbikes, 15 cwt trucks).

Many thanks for any information, Rob

There is a surviving example in the Groosebeek Heights Airborne Museum in Holland just South-East of Nijmegen.

Flimsy isn't the word, death trap more like!!

Huge repsect to those who used them in anger.

If you get copies of any plans could you please PM me as I would have a go at making a replica.

Cheers

Went to the RE Museum at Chatham last weekend and spotted one there under a section of Bailey Bridge inside the main museum

Cheers
