I quite enjoy panting German helmets and so was thinking about doing a Fallschirmjaeger one but as a medic. I did some research but could only find repros of Fallschirmjaeger medical marked helmets so my question is:
Were they actually a thing?
Or are they just fantasy items?
If anyone's got any pictures of some real ones they could share I would much appreciate it!
Thanks

I'm currently putting together a FJ Sani impression and haven't found any photos of FJ Sani with painted helmets, my what i've gathered they looked no different than the guys they were serving with (other than the armband and medical pouches), which makes sense as they wouldn't want to draw attention to themselves or their comrades.

The photo's where vests/helmets painted are either way behind the lines OR are POW's pressed back into service.

Nick,

I do not believe that you will find many photos of FJ Medics in Russia as the red cross was often used as a target by the Russians....
