Hello All.

I have just picked up an original container and will be repainting the outside (no original paint left). I was wondering if anyone else has done work on these before. I am looking for period correct stencils for the outside of the container - FL29680-1

Any help or advice appreciated.

I'm afraid I can't help but would be interested to know how and where you came across this. They're pretty rare.

You should be able to make stencils yourself. As for the other markings they often appear to be hand painted on. They come in a variety of colours as well.

Have you got the wheels and handle for it as well?

Hi,

I'm after the number and letter stencils for the FL code. I have added a pic. The container is complete with swing arm, original carry handles, wheels and axles, I have an original set of internal straps, and I have an original (but possibly post war) parachute pack.

I can't help you on the stencils I'm afraid. I'm pretty sure everyone who makes repro containers will have done their own.

That's a fantastic bit of kit you've got. To get it with the wheels, shock absorber and handle is very rare indeed. Would love to see when it's all finished. Are you going to let me know how much you paid?
