Most famous, in what way? More famous than the Spitfire/Mustang/Bf109/FW190?

Agreed, only famous if you have an interest in the French, Swiss or Finnish (like me) Air Forces. Otherwise another obscure mediocre type that was rapidly outclassed by the newer generations of fighters to come along.

Just before France capitulated, the drawings for the new 12Y51 engine were transferred to Switzerland. The Swiss put the new (+/- 1000 hp engine in their version, the EKW D3801. A Swiss version still flies at Duxford Flying Legends !, the type being retired in the 1950's.
Switzerland went on to sell the engine licence to the Soviets, and it resurfaced there, as the Klimov 100 series engines, Yak, Sturmovik.
