This replica has been on the 'circuit' over a decade with different groups. Last year it was purchased by a VERA member after been in storage for sometime. Its new owner is using it as basis for reconstruction along with original drawings and plans etc.

With luck it will be back 'in action' for the 2007 season if not before.

Is it going Airborne Chris? Or is the surgery too drastic? What's it based on?

That replica is largely timber. Its replacement will be steel and the 'split trail' Airborne type.

The Border Regts Guns were named after Battle Honours i.e. Arras, Gallipolli etc

Here you can see Gallipolli II in action.

We thought we may name ours 'Carlisle Castle'

Further to that, I remember an Article in Military Modelcraft a couple of months back, one guy did what you propose in 1/35th, pretty comprehensive - some good photos too. You should try and get hold of a copy. I can't for the life of me find mine tho......

Thanks Oggy we have the magazine. Also reprints of manuals via Wdrob and a few originals. We have some original parts to offer scale and some dimensions/photos of the real thing at Fort Nelson.

Just need time and 'money'....
