Les why not contact Dallas Autos, I have just got a Pump service kit from them, I know your not talking jeep, but I am sure if you ask Steve he might be able to advise.

Les mate inner tube rubber will be too stiff and thick to replace the exisiting fuel pump diaphragm.

Get the fuel pump model...it may be a direct change up to an agricultural or industrial model found on many engines today.

Or try a Renault truck dealer today...you may just never know....

Regards

Lloyd

Les it MUST have some marks on it somewhere...check under the manual handle mate or on the diapraghm itself.....

If its an original lift pump its almost certainly made by Ducellier and that can be cross referenced to a fairly modern day AC or Lucas type pump.

Take it to any Lucas agent or Bosch fuel shop..we have a place where i work in Bedford called Beds Battery that are sh*t hot with older fuel systems...

Must admit i am a time served agricultural fitter of some 15 years and i NEVER heard of a quick fix using inner tube for lift pump diaphragms Les.

Regards

Lloyd

CAV......great thats a standard Lucas CAV lift pump mate....(AC Delco) to our colonial cousins across the pond..:-)

Got any Lucas fuel system repair places round your way mate...try Leach Lewis in Waltham Abbey mate should be able to get you sorted.

Should be no problem getting a repair kit for it mate

regards

Lloyd

Petrol melts real rubber quite quickly but modern inner tube has synthetics in so they may last longer.
