Many a dealer are selling these, usually in an M36 mounted format.

Are they authentic?
I know officers used embroidered litzen but I dont ever recall seeing them for the rank and file?
If you google images for German collar tabs, the only time such a device shows up is a new item for sale from a dealer. No originals. I think they are fubar and will mock those who wear them from here to eternity.
or something....

EM litzen mounted on a dark green backing were standard issue pre-war. With the introduction of the M40 pattern tunic came a simplified form of litzen which became progressively more utilitarian and basic in pattern as the war progressed.
Although embroidered litzen, from old stocks, were still being issued right upto the Final Collapse.

LeMaitre meant the emboidered aspect - not the mounted aspect.

Embroidered is just how repro used to be made before they started producing proper litzen - which most traders cant be bothered to mount.

Ive never seen any evidence for them ever having existed. (Though i have some on a tunic - but If I were to wear it - i'd replace them)

Yes, exactly what I mean.
I have seen the Erste article before, it makes no mention of embroidered litzen for EM use. Unless I missed it? It only refers to the woven on a roll type, which supports my theory the shitty embroidered repro ones are fubar.
