Hi, I'm having no luck getting on the AFRA site, and was just wondering if the AFRA site is working and it's my bad, or is the site experiencing "technical difficulties", and programs will resume as soon as possible.

Technical difficulties, Kev. Karl is aware of the problem. Should be fixed later.

The only concern I currently have, is that my recently (pre-website update) issued card for 2015 had my membership number that I've had for the fast few years since joining - now since the new website update and the subsequent re-population of the database, I've now got a different membership number - which doesn't match my current 2015 membership card.

Are the membership numbers going to be reallocated to match existing members previous numbers or are new cards going to be issued soon for those who's already paid renewals for this year?

Currently in a situation where, for example, if I provide my AFRA membership details as part proof of being a bonafide reenactor for the purchase of a RIF, the card details I show them will not match if they contact yourselves for verification?

Cheers for any info/clear-up on this.

Numbers for this year are the ones on your card. Next year, they will become the ones on the website. We have no way of allocating existing numbers on the new site, it just gives the member being processed the next available number. It is not a problem, as I have a huge database with everybodys numbers on it, and wether they are paid up or not. If it's green, you are paid up :)

Cheers for clearing that up chap! I'll keep referencing my existing card number until next year then :)

Best not show that picture with my full name and membership number for too long, though - someone could masquerade as me with that info...

Removed it Rob, but it wouldn't do them much good anyway, as I always make sure the address matches too ;)

Did a made up example, so you can see what I have on my database:

Image

Paid up in green, not paid in red. I keep a copy of this on my computer and phone, so when I get emails from HMRC or vendors, I can check it immediately. If someone does put their number from the new website on by mistake, it's not a problem, as I can check that too.

Everbody has had to create a new account. Your details won't be on the new website unless you have. Once you create the account and the email is confirmed, either by the link in the email which you will get (can take an hour) or by me manually, you will need to re-apply, wether you are already a paid up member for this year or not. Paid up members will not need to pay again.

I suppose the confusion my be the word "account".
Please define!

Account = the login account to the site?
Account = the membership?

Which is which?

Regards and thanks for the help from Bob.
