We had a very successful deployment to the Royal Gunpowder Mills show in Essex, portraying signals and bicycle mounted infantry.
The signals team used a rare line laying cart to run telephone lines using original poles and hooks (imported by Matt from Russia) to hang the lines in the trees, connected to our original exchange and field phones. Enjoyable and informative for both our teams and the public.
Nice to get rare kit, research and use the way it should do in an informative display. Keeps interest up both from a membership perspective and a public one.

We picked up a new member too!

Big thanks to Les Hearn and the team for putting together yet another quality show.

Happy to report a very successful display and turnout.
The group displayed as a unit in training with attached command post. This was a very useful scenario, not only for the public, but as a useful aid to training of our new members.
FRAU displayed as an NSKK mobile workshop, getting good and oily in the process.

Lots of good feed back from the very high quantity and quality of the public, especially Monday when the crowd was huge.
A very well formed and enjoyable show.

Well, I thought the photo was pretty cool. 284 views and not one comment. Looks like I was wrong :-(

When you get silence I take that as the biggest compliment you can get as everyone is jealous.

One mistake and they're on you like a pack of rabid dogs

We now approach our final public show of the year. On the 16-18th October the group will once again take over Levisham station on the North Yorkshire Moors preserved railway where we will, along side the station staff, turn the clock back to 1943 occupied France.
This is our tenth year of providing innovative, immersion style events and this year sees us reprising some elements from previous years with some additional surprises thrown in.
If you are in the area, interested in what and how we do it, call in for a look see.
I hope you wont be disappointed

A very successful year, we've done some great new shows and some old favourites, picked up some fantastic, knowledgeable new members and some nice new bits of kit along the way.
Time to rest and maintain the vehicles, restore some bits and keep the war machine rolling.

Missing being in a field already!

As off season reaches its peak, all hands to the pumps to get the old kit refurbished and the new kit ready to roll. Lots of new blood in the group to train in the coming months too. We will be closing the recruitment phase at the end of February, so if you are interested in joining a great bunch of boys and girls, and like to work and act as part of your hobby, get in touch soon!
We will be attending Stoneleigh military fair in January, so hope to see you there!

Members of Das Reich spent an exhausting weekend working on a WW2 TV pilot. On set 10:00am till 1:00am. Demanding work, but rewarding.

The drama is scheduled for showing Easter weekend on "Movies 4 Men" and if successful, maybe more episodes to come.

Was nice to see Matt Harley of Trinity pyrotechnics there too. Great work as always Matt!

I can only say we were as per usual, in good kit.
Try not to grimace at the American uniforms. Truly hideous :D :D
